Because the MLBA believes that an informed liquor licensee is a safe licensee, we have created the National Hospitality Institute® (NHI). The NHI oversees various courses related to the hospitality industry. These include: TAM® -- A statewide program developed by the MLBA to provide training for its members and their employees in preventing alcohol abuse in licensed establishments. Topics covered include: False Identification Laws, Rules & Regulations, Clinical Effects of Alcohol and Alcohol Management. Offered online or onsite! **Please note: The online course is pending approval by the Liquor Control Commission. It is recommended for re-certification purposes only. Michigan Liquor Licensee Training SeminarTM -- Formerly the "New Licensee Seminar," this program has been expanded to be more relevant for veterans, not jsut those new to our industry. The all-day series of workshops is designed to help you succeed in your business as a liquor licensee. Topics include: Server Training, Health & Sanitation, Alcohol Rules & Regulations, Working With Local Police, Music Licensing Laws, Tobacco Sales Training and Lottery Sales.
